I went on a date with a guy, and everything seemed fine. We ordered a lot of food and were having a good time when he stepped outside to take a phone call.<\/p>\n

Minutes turned into half an hour\u2026 and he still hadn\u2019t come back.<\/p>\n

I checked outside\u2014nothing. No sign of him anywhere.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when it hit me: I\u2019d been ditched.<\/p>\n

Embarrassed and annoyed, I paid the bill myself and went home, convinced he had just disappeared without a word.<\/p>\n

Later that evening, my phone rang. It was him.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t hold back\u2014I started yelling immediately. But he cut me off and quickly explained.<\/p>\n

While he was outside, an elderly woman had suddenly collapsed in front of him. She was struggling to breathe, and as a doctor, he couldn\u2019t just walk away. He rushed to help her, stopped a passing car, and got her to the nearest hospital.<\/p>\n

He said waiting for an ambulance would have taken too long.<\/p>\n

He stayed with her for hours, making sure she was stable before finally leaving.<\/p>\n
