A wealthy businessman in a small town was known for two things: donating huge amounts to the church\u2026 and chasing women every chance he got.<\/p>\n
One Sunday morning, looking nervous and sweaty, he rushed into the confessional booth.<\/p>\n
\u201cForgive me, Father,\u201d he whispered. \u201cI think I\u2019ve sinned badly.\u201d<\/p>\n
The priest sighed.
\n\u201cMy son, with you, that usually means very badly. Go on.\u201d<\/p>\n
The businessman said, \u201cLast night, during the charity fundraiser, I was tempted by a beautiful young woman. One thing led to another\u2026 and we ended up in the hotel room upstairs.\u201d<\/p>\n
The priest groaned.
\n\u201cAgain?! How many times must we discuss this?\u201d<\/p>\n
The man continued, \u201cBut Father\u2026 that\u2019s not even the worst part.\u201d<\/p>\n
The priest rubbed his forehead.
\n\u201cDear Lord\u2026 what now?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWell,\u201d the man said, \u201cabout an hour later, another woman knocked on the door. Apparently, she had the wrong room number. But she was stunning too\u2026 and before I knew it\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
The priest interrupted, \u201cYou committed adultery twice in one night?!\u201d<\/p>\n
The businessman nodded sadly.
\n\u201cYes, Father. But there\u2019s still more.\u201d<\/p>\n
The priest nearly fainted.
\n\u201cThere\u2019s MORE?!\u201d<\/p>\n
The man whispered, \u201cAt around midnight, the mayor\u2019s wife came by looking for her husband\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
The priest slammed his hand against the booth.
\n\u201cThat\u2019s it! Stop talking! Your sins are giving me chest pain!\u201d<\/p>\n
There was silence for a moment.<\/p>\n
Then the businessman quietly asked,
\n\u201cSo\u2026 what should I do for forgiveness?\u201d<\/p>\n
The priest thought hard and finally said,
