\u201cWhat\u2019s the matter, Timothy?\u201d the priest asked, resting a hand on the boy\u2019s shoulder.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my ethics, Father,\u201d Timothy sighed. \u201cI\u2019m having a real crisis of conscience. Last Sunday, when the collection plate came around, I\u2026 I didn\u2019t have any money. But I saw a $20 bill sticking out of the pile, and I took it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Father O\u2019Malley gasped, \u201cTimothy! That is a grave sin! Stealing from the House of the Lord? Why on earth would you do such a thing?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, Father,\u201d Timothy whispered, looking around to make sure no one was listening. \u201cI needed the money to go to the local brothel.\u201d<\/p>\n

The priest\u2019s eyes nearly popped out of his head. \u201cThe brothel?! Timothy, this is worse than I thought! You stole from the Almighty to pay for the sins of the flesh! This is a spiritual catastrophe! Tell me\u2026 what did you do when you got there?\u201d<\/p>\n

Timothy looked down at his shoes. \u201cI couldn\u2019t do it, Father. I felt so guilty about the money that I just sat in the lobby and talked to the girl for an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n

Father O\u2019Malley let out a massive sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead.<\/p>\n
