Her father frowned.<\/p>\n

Not surprised.<\/p>\n

Not confused.<\/p>\n

Just\u2026 waiting.<\/p>\n

They knew.<\/p>\n

All of them knew.<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t dinner.<\/p>\n

This was a setup.<\/p>\n

I folded the note carefully.<\/p>\n

Placed it in my pocket.<\/p>\n

Then stood up.<\/p>\n
