Without thinking, I paid the difference.<\/p>\n

She hugged me tightly and whispered, \u201cIt\u2019s for my mom\u2026 she\u2019s not feeling well. I wanted to make today special.\u201d Then she rushed out before I could say anything.<\/p>\n

Later, as I left the store, I found a small note in my pocket. In careful handwriting it read: \u201cThank you for helping me. I didn\u2019t know what to do.\u201d Underneath was a tiny drawing of a cake.<\/p>\n

It was such a small moment \u2014 but it reminded me how powerful simple kindness can be.<\/p>\n
